America for Sale - Pennies on the Dollar

Redneck Ramblings 1 Comment

On my way to work in the mornings (yes, this redneck works), I generally listen to the Walton and Johnson Radio Show on WCPR.

It was funny that this morning they made the comment about America being for sale for pennies on the dollar because I have been thinking the same thing for months now. Economists constantly make the statements that we are heading towards a recession or how bad the real estate market is, etc. etc.

Our federal government is constantly screwing themselves because they think the average American is ignorant to the ways of economical movements. C’mon people! We know that you are scared of what is going to happen when you drop the rates by ½ or ¾ of a point every time you talk about the economy!

This, of course, is the problem! When you drop the rates over and over and talk about how bad the economy is, it creates panic in the eyes of the consumer. In this case, it really does not matter what the rates are, people start hoarding their money, remove it from the stock market, etc. Do we not remember what started the great depression? People can only take so much money out of their bank and savings accounts before this country goes to hell in a hand basket.

The biggest problem we have now that we did not have in October of 1929 is an overabundance of foreign investors. As Americans get scared and pull out, foreign individuals and foreign companies will start buying up stock in American corporations by the millions. So where does this leave us? Think about it - I urge your comments.

What do you think will happen if the bulk of American businesses are bought up by foreign companies?

Since Hurricane Katrina hit the Mississippi Coast a little over two years ago, there has been an extremely large influx in the Hispanic population along the coast. This has created issues for many people mostly griping because of their prejudices, but I have a slightly different outtake on the situation.

While there has been a significant amount of Hispanics from many different areas, it seems that the Mexicans far outweigh the rest. For those that came her legally - great! I have no problem with immigrants who want to make a better life for themselves and do it the right way.  The vast majority of people in the United States are immigrants from somewhere but our ancestors worked hard to get here and, in turn, learned the language and supported this country through war and taxation.

The illegal immigrants coming to this country by the truckload get in our country, flood our schools and hospitals, and hard working Americans are footing their bills because they do not pay taxes.  Our area had a lot of work after the Hurricane for these immigrants but now as the work is subsiding, you see them hanging out on the streets, littering the homeless shelters, and causing issues everywhere (crime included) when they should not be here in the first place.

Then, you have attorneys that specialize in getting papers for this population that can’t even speak the language. There is one specific attorney who specializes in getting papers for illegal immigrants for the sole purpose of them being able to sue Americans and American companies!

When does it all end?
When do we, not only as Mississippians, but Americans as a whole, stand up and say “enough is enough”?

My First Post

With the exception of my “About” page post, this is my first official “blog” posting.  This site will be a collective work of my thoughts and ideas. You can keep an eye on this site for some really great ideas and viewpoints and yet come back the next day and see a twisted, deranged, psychopathic way of looking at the world - just depends on my mood.

You will never know what you may find here in the future so be warned - it may not be for the faint of heart.

I would like to start off on the right foot and say THANK YOU to Damion for hosting this blog and showing me how to use it!
